NYS extends foreclosure/eviction moratorium yet again—taking action in their own hands

On September 1st, the NY State Senate and Governor enacted the following series of statutes: Tenant Safe Harbor Act (“TSHA”), the COVID-19 Emergency Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention Act (“CEEFPA”), and COVID-19 Emergency Protect Our Small Businesses Act (“CEPOSBA”). Measures that will further challenge and delay landlords getting the collateral from their non-paying borrowers/tenants. For Private Lender Law’s foreclosure and loss mitigation group, our priority has been to go through all of these acts with a fine-tooth comb to provide optimum alternative solutions for our clients.
